BUG: Data error in Factbook
- Open Factbook to List of People Named Mary in the Bible
- Hover over Mary (of Bethany)
- Note the count by the spark chart is 38 ... which does not match a search or the values in the Referred to As section of the Mary (of Bethany) Factbook entry.

We're looking into this. I haven't yet been able to find another comparable case with fewer references to try to narrow down what's different in the counts.

No, but it does match the count that happens to show up in this screenshot that you won't see until 9.1 Beta 1:
The count here is the result of adding up all the passages in each of the groups without removing duplicate passages. I suspect the sparkline in the tooltip is doing something similar.
I'll get a case written up for the tooltip. And also one for the count in the "Open in Bible" link.

When I hover over Mary of Bethany I see " The sister of Martha and Lazarus in Bethany" but I do not see Brother Lazarus, Sister Martha, or the sparkchart. Is there a way to set what I can view when I hover?

Can you post a screenshot that shows the entire panel as you are hovering over "Mary of Bethany"?

I've figured it out. There are 19 verses total with references in the original languages + 19 verses in translation to match the 38 Andrew showed.

And when I see it, I will point out that the count is verses not passages i.e. adjacent verses are counted separately AND the count is doubled ... probably 1 for original languages and 1 for translation .... leaving 19 verses in ESV which matches with the search results.

Good guess, but no. Count up the number of passages in each subsection of Translated As (not the (22x) part, which is the number of instances). The total is 38. This is actually the way that the sparkline is counting, which is incorrect.
Instead, it should be counting the number of instances (add up all the (22x) counts in Translated As). This adds up to 53, which matches what you get if you search SBLGNT (I wouldn't expect a search of a translated Bible to match).
The sparkline count is already fixed and will be in Beta 1.

Yes, you are correct about verses/passages. I was sloppy because in this case, passage count is the same as verse count.

I would love to...but not sure how to do that. How do I provide screenshots?

I've discovered the errors of my ways...I didn't go to the "List of People Named Mary in the Bible". I was just hovering over Mary of Bethany after inserting Mary in the Factbook search.
Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know. Glad you've got it working as expected.

This has been fixed in 9.1.
