Search function in Logos 9 ios app
I am still bemused by the search function on the app, which I was hoping would have a resolution now.
Search for a word e.g. και and specify to search in my collection of greek grammars and I get a list of verses...
I asked about this on a previous Logos thread. Is there something I am missing in Logos 9 ios app that will change this?

On a quick test I've done, this happens if the collection I am using contains any versified resources - such as Bibles or Commentaries
If I exclude those, I get the sort of results I think you are looking for.
Is it possible that your collection contains any versified resources?

Thanks for the response Graham. I just removed all versified resources from my collection and now I get no returns!

That wasn’t the plan!
Can you post a screenshot of your search?

All of the ones of type Bible Commentary are versified resources.
I suggest you set up a new collection with a few Grammar resources and try testing this feature with that.
I agree there is something strange going on and it would be good to try and tie it down.

Ah, good call - I will give that a bash in a bit

Unfortunately no improvement on that.
It would be great if the search function in general could be improved to match more closely the options in the Windows app, but this one has been an annoyance for me in Logos 7 mobile and now in 9. Not the end of the world, just odd0 -
Hey Matt and Graham, I agree there is definitely room for improvement. A year or more ago we attempted to simplify the search interface on mobile, but in the process of doing that, we unintentionally limited some capabilities. In this instance, I suspect (as Graham suggested) that we are inferring from the collection that one of the resources in the collection is versified in some respect, and default to a bible search. The problem is that you can't override that to do what you want. That is a bug, and one that we are aware of. It is on our list of things to tackle and improve, hopefully before long, though I can't make promises on when.

Thanks Todd - good to hear.

Thanks for the response Todd. Good to know it is recognised as a bug and not a "feature" [:P]
I work in IT, there are levels to this kind of thing...
"Working as designed" - initial excuse, desperately hoping no one will ask for the design
"Working as expected" - fall back, desperately hoping no one will ask "who and why"
"Feature" - no where else to go
You have expressed none of the above, so I am a happy customer. I hope it doesn't take long to sort, but am happy that it is on a list to sort

I also noticed this issue and made a post in the below thread. Sorry
