Red Letter text in Dark Mode

I'm measuring 3.89:1 contrast ration on the red letter text which is below the WCAG recommended 4.5:1 minimum. Shifting the color to pink/purple can easily get to or near the AAA enhanced rating 7:1. The mobile app comes close to that (I think--I haven't actually measured it there). Why do the desktop different than the mobile app?

I admit that I have to turn off red letter in dark mode as it is too hard to read. On balance I like to keep the dark mode but do find red letter helpful. It would be great if some changes can be made to make it easier to read. Thanks.
