Please fix this simple but longstanding and problematic deficiency in reading plans

I know L9 just added new capabilities to reading plans. I'm hoping to try those out soon. In the meantime, can you please fix this longstanding shortcoming in reading plans.

To be specific, if I open an existing reading plan, I can't interact with it at all until I hit the "Edit" button. But as soon as I do that, there's no way to cancel any changes I've made. More than that, pretty much as soon as I click anything when "editing", Logos recalculates - and those changes are immediately saved, even when I don't want them to be saved.

The main scenario where this affects me is when I want to copy the passage range I've entered into an existing reading plan so that I can copy it for creating a new reading plan. There's no way to do that without editing the plan, and there's no way to access it without clicking the named passage range. And doing that immediately causes Logos to recalculate that plan even though I have no desire for that to happen. It's so frustrating that I just deleted the reading plan rather than trying to figure out how to fix it.

Thank you for the reply, but that doesn't work. As soon as Logos changes anything based on me clicking something, it's saved - before I hit "Done". I've tried just closing the reading plan document (clicking 'x' on the tab). It doesn't seem to make a difference.

Not sure what is going on. I just did this last night and tested it again just now and it doesn't edit anything for me.

As long as you don't change anything, but just copy the range and click Done, I found the Plan was unaffected.

Thank you again for the replies. I am not seeing what you're seeing. Here are the steps I took, starting from a duplicated reading plan so that I wouldn't affect the original.

1. Open the reading plan from "Docs".

2. Click "Edit".

3. Click the named passage range for the plan. That brings up a passage selection menu (with "All Passages" at the top and my named range below that). In my case, the named range is "Interleaved OT & NT"; and the content of the range is "Ge; Mt; Ps 1-5; Ex; Mk; Ps 6-10; etc.".

4. With that menu up, as soon as I hover over the named range entry in the menu, the dates are recalculated such that they start "Today". Before that recalculation, the day for the first reading was Jan 1.

5. I dismissed the passage selection menu (without ever actually selecting anything in it). The new dates still showed in the reading plan.

6. Then I clicked the 'x' in the upper right of the reading plan document's tab to close the document.

7. I re-opened the reading plan from "Docs".

The dates for the reading plan begin "Today", not Jan 1. Note again, I never clicked "Done".

If Logos is not supposed to save the reading plan if the user doesn't click "Done", then this is a bug.

So I'd really like FL to respond to this thread. Thanks again for your replies. Let me know if I need to clarify anything.

Your (Saved) named range should appear in the All Passages menu when you create other Plans. No need to copy!

Two responses:

1. You're assuming that the purpose of my copying is for use elsewhere in Logos. In this case, it wasn't.

2. Even if that addressed my tactical problem (copy the range for use elsewhere in Logos), it doesn't deal with what appears to be a strategic problem (i.e. a bug . Is the plan supposed to change and auto-save even if I never hit "Done"?
