Deficiency in new reading plans feature
The new approach to mobile reading plans seem to now revolve around the "Overview" screen. Tap the "Read" button and the text/passage appears. When done, tap "Finish" and a summary screen appears. Tap the "< Overview" button in the upper left and return to the Overview screen.
The deficiency is that the Overview screen does not have any dates on it. I believe the only time I've seen a date is if I'm behind. Then the next reading shows the originally planned date (I think). I want to see the date for each reading in the list on the Overview screen, next to the passage for that date. I hope that makes sense. If I view the reading plan document in L9 (and I think in mobile - it used to be the case, anyway), I see the dates.
(BTW - the summary screen seems to be completely useless. There's no information there at all. Also, when the summary screen is up, you can't tap its content area to bring up the bottom menu - Home / Library / Layouts, etc.)
Thanks,
Donnie

Agreed.
Another frustration with the new layout is that you can't—as far as I can tell—scroll back to see what came before the day‘s reading. I usually two-finger scroll back and review where I last read and to see my previous highlights to refresh my memory on where I am in the book. Now I have to open the resource separately, which works, but makes the card on my homepage almost useless. I might not have explained that well, but I do wish there was an option to simply open the resource when selecting the reading plan card from the homepage.

Your explanation matches what I've seen.
I know there have been at least a couple of complaints about not having the whole resource available in the current passage reading view. I happen to like it.

Bump for FL.

If you choose ‘read at your own pace’ it will have to dates.

Dates would be a nice touch but I very much like the forant on this approach and not concerned about it being focused. If I want to see passage before or after I can quickly access that with two clicks - I think FL habe got this close to right. I don’t get caught up in being concerned with things others are finding as an issue because I can easily do those things with a couple of clicks.
I would not want to see the way this works changed..may things easier to do for sure but the focussed reading is perfect and what has been lacking, Time for it to be an option in the desktop software.

If you're referring to how the reading plan is initially created, that doesn't address my concern. I want to see the dates for one year reading plans (as one specific example). Such plans are not 'read at your own pace'.

Hey Donnie,
Just a quick note to let you know that dates will start appearing in each list item in the Reading Overview screen as you have asked for. That's actually how it was originally designed, and even currently works on Android. It was missed in our final iOS release, but will be in beta and then stable soon.
Thanks for your feedback in general, and for pointing this out specifically.
