Analysis Formatting

I am in the midst of reading the CS Lewis biography published by IV Press. It hit me that one of the themes that drew Lewis to Christ in his mid 30s was his search for "joy". Following that lead, I did a search for "joy* OR rejoic*" in the Psalms and chose analysis view. I sorted by LEMMA - but found so many columns of information that it was confusing to look at. I started to remove columns, but could only remove them one column at a time,

Is there a way to remove create a format without just removing or adding a single column at a time?
Is there a way to save a format - so that I can come back to the same format when I do a new search?

Even today this would have been helpful - as I originally searched "joy*" and then "rejoic*" - and needed to recreate the view that I had set up with the original search.

The bad news is the answer to both your questions is no. (Someone else may know something I don't and I would welcome correction).

The good news is you can search both words (or more if desired) at the same time if you want to.

I would say something is not working as it should. Maybe Logos needs to look into this.

I rarely change the layout, but tried to today and noticed that sometimes the search would remember columns I deleted or added in and other times it wouldn't. Occasionally running the search twice or three times after changing the format each time helped it remember.

Since I never have all the columns showing, it seems Logos does have some memory of which columns I normally want. But right now alterations to that layout are not being remembered as I'd expect.

BTW: being able to check more than one column at a time for addition or deletion should be the default behavior in my opinion.

On a different note:

Once you get a search results panel set up as you'd like, try dragging the small search panel tab to your Favorites list. It seems when I do this the correct settings are preserved. I can then click that link to rerun the search and then search for what I want with the layout I want.

after fiddling with the column headings, it seems that the column heading setup is associated to specific word(s) that were searched. (e.g. i did a search last week for transfigured and it remembered not only the heading setup but also which headings that i had sorted by). i went and tried searching for words that i had not search before and setting each to a different scheme. Then when i do a search for each, the scheme for each comes up with appropriate word.

Just a possible observation.

I think that is interesting. I don't think I've been getting that. It seems that when I use the drop-down list of past searches it forgets the way I had grouped the results when I last did that search. It goes with whatever my last search grouping was. Haven't messed previously with column headings so can't check that.

I don't think I've been getting that.

seems that i was mistaken (or something is working in an intermittent way). Now i think i see things as you are seeing them; Search remembers my last configuration.

Edit: something is retained, just not sure what are the specifics (maybe Bible version???)

Search A

Search B modified which columns to use (also changed Bible to NIV)

closed Search pane

Search C opened and added different word which was never searched
notice that columns are the same as B

Search D Opened search and set new word and use ESV
notice that all the column appear again

Search E changed the word back to STRONG
notice all the columns are back

Search F change Bible to NIV
now notice the abbreviated columns again
