Re-Map Documents and Backups Folder Mac

I have Wordsearch for Mac successfully running on my old iMac running macOS High Sierra, and I have disabled the Internet features so I can run Wordsearch for Mac exclusively in offline mode on a legacy system in case I need to grab something critical from it that doesn't transition smoothly to Logos.

However, my Wordsearch Documents and Backups folder are stored in the Documents folder on my iMac, and that folder syncs with iCloud.

I would like to move and re-map those folders to an offline folder on my iMac (maybe the Home folder) so I am running Wordsearch exclusively in offline mode, then I'll locally back it up with Time Machine.

How would I go about doing this?

Hi Nathan

Open a new folder on your Mac then drag the appropriate contents from your document folder to it.

You will probably get a warning that you are removing the contents from the cloud.

I did that but how do I tell Wordsearch to grab documents and save backups to the new folders?

I run WordSearch in a V.M. of Windows 10, so I have a real Windows file path.

If you are using the WINE/CrossOver method of running W.S. on your mac you will have to find the actual macOS file location where the WINE/Fake Windows path is located.

It is simple Nathan, you don't. Just use the WordSearch Backup dialog and change the path/location of where to store the backups.

1) Select Save to Computer.

2) When the next dialog appears select the ellipse...
a new dialog will open showing the "Fake" file path as it actually is in relation to your Mac file system.

Navigate the file tree up to your home folder/desktop/where-ever and create a new folder there.

Create your folder here...

So, you don't "Have" to fool around with mapping anything. Just use the WordSearch program to reset the path for you.
