Not able to get this new 4.0d RC1 update

I have restarted logos a few times since 4:30 pm today. I have left my computer on for a few hours with L4 running on a couple of these restarts above.

I have typed update now 3 times and have always gotten a response of no updates found.

I am clearly using a previous update via that number that Melissa is giving in her post. Here is her posting and I will show my version below it......

From what I can see, it appears the new update is NOT on the Beta Channel; only on the main one.

Run "Set Update Channel to Default" and your system should pick up the update as soon as you have entered the command.

After it loads and restarts, later change back to the beta channel if that suits, or stay on default until/less there is something on Beta you need.

I had the same issue, and this action resolved it. Thanks, Jim. I had thought this was the issue, but had not tried changing the Update Channel.

If memory serves, Logos has been inconsistent on publishing an SR to the beta channel. They did it for 4.0c SR1 and as answered above they didn't do it this time. [:S]

Hey there was some serious bugs quashed in SR1, including the black bar on dual monitor setups!

I don't. For me, it makes little sense that a Service release to be published on the Beta channel (if it beats beta 1 out the door). However, when we were having that big discussion about the release RSS feed I believe Mark introduced some evidence (if memory serves) that Logos had said they would or did put SRs on the Beta channel.

What I said is true, Logos has been inconsistent on whether they put an SR out on the Beta channel if that SR predates the release of Beta 1. Oh well, for now it's a moot point.

That is the point - it has never been policy and right now some unfortunate user on beta channel is going to get 4.1 Beta instead of the SR they had expected!
