If you want to copy a portion of a footnote, you can long-press the desired selection, with handles to adjust. But the copy menu doesn't appear ... screen below.
It may well be the functionality was never intended, or disappeared with the auto-lookup to lexica.
EDIT: I tried it with the older Noet from last year. Works (2nd image). So, maybe it disappeared with Auto-Lookup.
