iOS Logos9 App Crashes on start
Hi,
The Logos 9 app on my iPhone 7 was working fine for a few days, now it won't start up at all, crashing 15 seconds after starting.
I have restarted the iPhone, which still has 125 GB memory available. Recently I updated to iOS 14.2
I have about 53k books that are all downloaded to the phone, so not I am not keen on deleting the app & reloading. I also have a lot of layouts that I believe are local data.
Curious what is the remedy?

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with this.
Please do the following:
1. Close all apps on this device
2. Go to iOS settings for this device.
3. Find Logos in the list
4. Turn on the option for “Reset Workspace”.
5. Open the Logos app.If you need further help, please send your logs:
1. Open the app.
2. Tap the Menu icon (has three horizontal lines).
3. Tap Help.
4. Press "Report a Problem"
5. A pre-addressed email will open with a log file attached automatically. Press "Send" to send your report.0 -
Thanks, Joe the "reset workspace" is what was needed.

Layouts are synced and so should survive an app re-install (or installing on a new device of the same platform).

Hello,
I have a similar problem on an iPad pro (3rd generation). Just that The app doesn’t open at all. It is just blocking on the logos icon for 10 seconds and then it crashes.
The option “Reset Workspace” is on.
Any suggestions?

I had a few cases of the app refusing to start - just coming up to the splash screen - on my iPhone running iOS 14.1
I’ve since upgraded to 14.2 and no problems at the moment
What version of PadOS are you running?

I’ve upgraded to 14.2 too.

Tried all of this and I’m getting nothing but frozen, crashing app on both iPhone and iPad. Something is up with the Logos servers or something. so frustrating. I’ve tried to use this in church settings twice this week and had to ditch the tech for good old fashioned printed Bible 😀

I am not experiencing this. The "same" symptoms do not necessarily mean the "same" problem. It is recommended that you create a new thread. Explain your situation(s) clearly, providing all appropriate details. Also make sure to outline the steps you have taken to resolve the issue.

I will try to describe more exactly the problem.
It started few weeks ago, when I still had Logos 8. The app was blocking at the beginning, on the splash window. I purchased Logos 9 and upgraded the PadOS to 14.2. I did uninstall and reinstall the app, without any result. Then I did a reset of the iPad and I did reinstall the app. Now it shows up the window of Logos 9 (with the three hues) but it is still blocking there.
Thank you

What do you mean by this? You wiped the device of everything, reinstalled iPadOS?
How many "devices" show up here: https://www.logos.com/account/devices
You might want to try and delete all of the iPad ones.
How many resources did you have downloaded previously to this device?

Thank you for your response.
Yes, I wiped the device of everything and I reinstalled iPadOS.
I removed the device as well from the “manage device” page. Still, there is something strange there. I have the app installed on an iPhone and on the manage device it shows up the same device two times, as you can see in the screenshot.
I didn’t have any resource downloaded on my iPad

This is a known issue. It is likely that an update to iOS (i.e. from iOS 13 to iOS 14) created a "new" device. For that reason, I make sure to rename the devices using the following nomenclature: JT’s iPad (2019) [Stable Build]. This tells me who's device, which year, and if it was the stable or beta build. If I go back and see another device listed, I know to delete the old one and rename the new one.

You didn't have any resources downloaded now, before, or both?
Do you have VPN? Have you tried using a different internet connection?

1. Thanks for the helpful hint
2. I don’t use to download resources on my device. So I didn’t have any before the problem. Obviously neither now, when I cannot open the app.
3. I don’t’ the have VPN. I’ve tried using both WI-FI and 4G.

I´m still having the same issue on iOS 14.2 which I installed cleanly. Now Logos Bible Software keeps crashing on v.10

What specific device are you using? Why did you install an old version of iOS?
