Hi Ryland - sorry to hear you are having problems

It looks, from the picture you posted, that the Logos software doesn't have access to the folders it needs. I suggest you look at file permissions.

And, if that doesn't work please post full logs (the actual text of them) in a reply to this thread

It looks, from the picture you posted, that the Logos software doesn't have access to the folders it needs. I suggest you look at file permissions.

Concur home directory /Users/crylandscott has permission issue(s) that is preventing access of '/Users/crylandscott/.mono/registry/CurrentUser/software/logos4' folder. What does terminal show for ls -laFR ~/.config ~/.mono

Logos Help Center (LHC) (can search for macOS permissions) has Logos Asks me to Sign in Every Time | Mac with chmod commands for another hidden folder in user's home directory: ~/.mono and ~/.config need the same permissions.

Also may need to grant Security & Privacy permissions for Logos => Logos Permissions within macOS

Keep Smiling [:)]

Ryland- From your post history I see that you are new to Logos. For clarification: it is true that Faithlife does not support Logos on beta builds of windows or macOS. However, you are always welcome to post in the forums to get help from fellow users. I am only a quasi techie, but there are other users like the two good ones above who are willing to delve into your logs.

please do let us know how it goes. If you still have troubles, we’d be glad to troubleshoot.

I am a new user coming from WordSearch

I have never gotten past "Preparing your Library" on my iMac Desktop but have Logos software running in Windows

I have checked permissions to the best of my knowledge and I do not see a problem

Using this computer for the past 5 years without issue with other software

Copy of Terminal ls -laFR ~/.config ~/.mono request is attached

I have just run with Logos Logging Utility and sent results to Support along with full crash report

Thanks to all for your assistance

Have a blessed week

Ryland

• Copy of Terminal ls -laFR ~/.config ~/.mono request is attached

The ls -laFR ~/.config ~/.mono listing shows /Users/crylandscott/.mono/registry and /Users/crylandscott/.mono/registry/CurrentUser folders are owned by root, which prevented '/Users/crylandscott/.mono/registry/CurrentUser/software/logos4' folder from being created, causing an error for opening Logos 9.

To change folder ownership from "root" to "crylandscott" within ~/.mono folder (in crylandscott's home directory): in Terminal, please run this sudo (super user do) chown (change ownership) command with -R (recursive) option:

sudo chown -R crylandscott /Users/crylandscott/.mono

Note: the sudo command prompts for password to verify authorization to become root (super user). As root, using path to crylandscott's home directory since ~ is a shortcut to the current user's home directory.

To verify ownership change in Terminal, please run this list (ls) command:

ls -laFR ~/.mono

After ownership changed to crylandscott, please try opening Logos 9.

This fixed my fresh install problem, thanks. I had one Mac where I had zero problems, and my home one had this permission problem. Now I feel like a Windows user in the 90s! :-)

Hi I am having the same trouble as Ryland Scott. Unlike Mr. Scott, I have no earthly idea of what you just told him to do. Where do I begin? Where do I find copy of Terminal?

If you can help I would appreciate it

Thanks

Welcome Nancy! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles [:s]

Hi I am having the same trouble as Ryland Scott.

That medicine was for him in his situation. It is never good to take someone else's medicine.

I have one thing for you to try. If it doesnt work, you will need to post logs.

• Try pressing and holding down the command key immediately upon startup. (This loads to a blank layout)

If that doesnt work, please do the following:

• Get logs. See my signature line for a link to instructions.
• Create a NEW thread in the forums. Make sure to provide relevant details (i.e. what specific version of macOS) and logs.

Welcome [:D]

Ryland Scott's initial forum post included a screen shot showing "Logos quit unexpectedly" with Apple Crash Report problem details.

Logos Wiki has Screenshot with steps for taking a screenshot and including screenshot in a forum reply.

Without Screenshot of Apple Crash Report details when trying to open Logos (or Verbum), humanly not know if the trouble is the same.

Applications has Utilities folder, which has Terminal. Caution: Terminal is a powerful utility.
