Resizing Panes
Let's start with this picture, so you understand what I mean:
I started with three columns, and then added the NLT to the right of the ESV in the top middle. Then I resized the left-hand column, and it unevenly sized the two Bible panes (the ESV on the right shrunk, but not the NLT on the left). "That's ok, I'll just drag the dividing bar and make them even." But when I started dragging the dividing bar, it jumped to some invisible gridline instead of moving with my mouse. Vertical resizing snaps as well.
I really don't remember L8 doing that - is this snap-to-a-grid-thing new, or is my memory worse that I thought?

I started with L7 (briefly) and it has always done this as far as I remember on Windows, L8 definitely.

That is how I always remember it behaving. If you double click on the divider the software will try and even out the panes, usually taking a few tries to get all the panes effected. Not sure that tip helps you in your circumstance.
