Paradigm in Forums

If I get nothing in return to this post.... may seem obvious.

What I would like though of those who do add, is an acknowledgement that as a forum with a Christian encapsulated environment, interpretation (in this I am included) of any post contents is sometimes, if I do say, intentionally, ridiculed.

I really dont think I have misled through hidden diatribe of any ill repute in any of my (very limited) posts of inquiry.

When ever I, acknowledging free of experience ignorance, concerning features of Logos I do intentionally consider those who give their input as valuable tossed pearls, and try to pass on a positive appreciative intent for doing so.

So now that the stage is set, can someone try and speculate why it is that what seems to me, in the beginning, to be a global issue in the recent Logos version, yet what turns turns out to be is a local (mine) problem with Logos 9. Why is it I am having these problems where those who view from their perch as the village idiot?

The humor of "dump 9" vs. "bump 9" may be obvious only to those who have seen literally thousands of "bump" messages but there was no intent to label you "village idiot" ... it takes much more that a single misreading to earn that title in the forums especially for some one like myself who has published a poem on the inability to distinguish b-p-q-d. However, I am genuinely sorry if my post was taken as a jibe against you; that was not it's intent. I would prefer to concentrate on the steps that led up to your problem with PBB's and see if there is still a pathway to fix it.

The forum guidelines may be Christian in nature, but the membership includes more than Christians.

Ridicule, intentional or otherwise, shouldn't be acceptable.

So now that the stage is set, can someone try and speculate why it is that what seems to me, in the beginning, to be a global issue in the recent Logos version, yet what turns turns out to be is a local (mine) problem with Logos 9.

We'd love to help you resolve this problem, but "speculation" without details is probably fruitless.

Can you post a detailed description of the problem you're observing, what you expect to see instead, and any error messages you're seeing, ideally with screenshots? (Use the paperclip icon in the forum post editor to attach them.)

I saw your post in the other thread:

Logos 9 does not recognize PBBs built in previous versions, meaning one cannot "upload" previous version of built books in Logos 9, which means that if one uses more than one computer (main vs portable, mobile) that other computer will not receive the syncing process because the "upload" button feature in Logos 9 is ghosted and cannot be actuated.

Some of these claims are not true. (Logos 9 does recognise PBBs built in previous versions). I'm having difficulty understanding the other claims (the "upload" button feature in Logos 9 is ghosted and cannot be actuated).

Some more detail would really help us help you.

Along with Bradley, I am unsure what you mean by ghosted. If you have already uploaded the file, I believe it will be grayed out. Is that what you mean? Also, if you did not compile the resource on this computer, using this installation, it would probably also be grayed out.

You should also be aware that personal books are not available on mobile, with no plans to make them so.

I didn't get that impression from your earlier threads, but your thread on Personal Book Builder began with generalisations and speculations about the product and its developers that are just not true.

My questions at the end of your PBB thread were designed to avoid speculation about your issue. It would help us to help you if you returned to that thread and answered those questions.

Hope you got my quick replay.

This is what drive me nuts, trying to explain something that would take a book to cover in an environment as this. I cant be short e.g., information loss.
