Resource issue: Alexander Scourby KJV (audio)

My Copy of Alexander Scourby KJV (audio) has stopped working.
https://www.logos.com/product/177412/alexander-scourby-kjv
It was working just after I purchased it (under Logos 8).
I have not used it for a while and now under Logos 9 it will not play.
I keep getting the "We couldn't access the media you're trying to play" message.
1) I have tried removing the resource and re-downloading it. No good.
2) I have tried using the "Download all media" in the panel menu, also no good"
I get the same on my Mac (Mojave 10.14.6) as well as my laptop (Windows 10)
Logos is ver 9 (9.0.0.0181) full features on both machines.
Anyone else with this resource and Logos 9 having any issues?
Any ideas?
Other Videos and audio media play correctly in Logos.
I do have a good internet connection (fiber based), 335.8 Mb/s up 106.5 Mb/s down.

Have you tried putting it on your phone or tablet? Might be a temporary or alternative fix. Do contact support if you can’t get it going.

I tried it on the latest iOS. It won’t download or play the audio files. Definitely a newly introduced bug.

Hopefully someone at FL will chime in on this problem. I didn't even know they had Scourby and I would kind of like to have it myself even though there are other means to get it. Scourby's reading is justifiably famous.

Agreed. No other recording that comes close.

Yes, I tried this early this morning after getting home from work. No joy there either. It is still not working (that is, the audio will not play nor will it download.
I have one last thing that I might be able to try but that will have to wait until I get home from work tonight.

I agree also. Alexander Scourby's reading of the Holy Bible was the first recording of scripture that I heard. Whenever I think of someone reading from the bible, itis his voice that I hear in my head. Listening to someone else read scripture just seems WRONG somehow.

Ok, here is my "one more thing to try" update.
I have an older laptop which still has Logos 8.16 on it (not yet updated).
I disabled the wifi and started Logos. Disabled the update option. Restarted the wifi for access to logos resources.
Made sure All Media was downloaded for the Scourby Audio Bible and ... It works under Logos 8.
It still does not work on Logos 9 on either my Mac or on my Windows 10 laptop with Logos 9.
So... yea, I think it is a Logos Version bug. I will post a new thread with the Bug: heading in a bit on the Logos 9 Forum.
I'll link back here to this thread.

Yea I do know that I am blessed to have it.
I still remember my first 300 BAUD direct connect modem on my Radis Shack Color Computer using Comp-U-Serv. All text based.

I bought the Alexander Scourby resource today and I am having the same technical issue. I recently upgraded from Logos 8 to Logos 9 which was before I purchased the Scourby resource today. I hope Logos can get this issue fixed soon. All of my other audio resources seem to be working fine.

This is your standard "me too" post. I contacted support who says that they too are having problems listening to the dulcet tones of Alex reciting Scripture. They suggested that I be patient, or return it for a refund.

Looks like they just fixed the problem with the new update.
Will I be able to have my KJV bible automatically follow along like in the LEB translation?
Would like to be able to sync more audio bibles with the corresponding translations. Is there any plan for this in the future?

Doesn’t appear to be fixed on iOS.

No, I don't believe so. This is just the audio recording and is not linked to the Bible proper.
(At least it did not "Follow along" when I first bought it.)

I'd want it working on iOS. Maybe delete the resource and reinstall? Following!

Ok here is what I have come up with so far.
It kind'a works IF (notice that this is a BIG IF) if you do NOT download the media but stream it only.
When I got home tonight I first tried the resource. No good.
I then removed the resource and re-downloaded the resource and, HEY! it was working. I next downloaded ALL MEDIA from the panel menu and the resource STOPED working.Ok, I used the panel menu to remove all media from my computer the resource started working again. (Note, I may have had to restart Logos once here.)
So as it stands right now, without downloading the media, streaming only the resource "appears" to work on my mac. I still have to try my Windows laptop and iPad.
I also suffered a Logos crash/unintended shutdown during the 1st attempt to download all media. I relaunched Logos, deleted the media and retried. The second time the media appeared to finish downloading. ( I assume this because the info panel button had changed from down all to delete downloaded media.) The resource however would still not play and would give me the error message that I posted at the start of this thread.
I'll try the other two devices beforre I go to bed and report back on how they fare.

Ok, another update.
iOS (13.6 I believe) does NOT work. The resource will not play.
On my laptop with Windows 10 and Logos 9.0.0.0181 the audio will play. After allowing my logos install to re-download the resource it did indeed play. I did not try to download the media. I can do that later when I have the time.
So, as long as we have an internet connection it appears that the resource can be used. Now we just need to be able to download the audio media so it can be used off line.

Got it to work on my iPad (latest OS), but it required deleting the entire app and reinstalling. Audio now plays, however it won’t download for offline listening.

It is doubtful. The LEB and ESV have official audiobooks, and those have been made to follow along. I don't see FL adding multiple audiobooks versions of a translation to this feature.

Success! Reinstalled the app--again. It took two hours to download the 4GB, which was ridiculous, but it worked.

That is why I suggest users be judicious in the amount of downloaded resources they utilize on mobile. The best fix for many issues is a complete reinstall of the app.

OK, I went ahead and deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled. The audio now plays. I then downloaded the media files and shut off the wifi on the iPad and the audio still played. I guess it is now working.
Many thanks for all of the suggestions/help in getting this going.
Also many thanks to the FaithLife / Logos team for getting this fixed!

Scourby is on sale again this year. How is it working for others here?
I posted in the audio reading plan thread that I am having problems.
https://community.logos.com/forums/t/204816.aspx
Now that I read reviews, the reviews say this audio is not linked to a KJV Bible. Really? And one review says that there are skips in the Gospels. Has anyone else noticed that?
0 -
True, it’s not linked to the text, but the audio works fine now. I've not had a problem with the gospels. There're present and function.

Thanks for responding so quickly! I was hoping the skips were just an random error for that user.
At least the audio is broken up by individual chapters.

There are only a very small handful of "read aloud" resources where there is audio tied to the text. No regular audiobooks are tied to the corresponding text in a "read aloud" function. You can, of course, play the audio and read along, but you will have to manually stop, play, and turn pages.

Thank you so much for clarifying!
