Goodrick/Kohlenberger...what resource is this?

Many lexicons in Logos have a link to a GK resource (e.g. GK7731). Cursor hover identifies the GK as "Goodrick/Kohlenberger numbering system of the NIV Exhaustive Concordance."

Okay, so I can read the description as given above...but I can't find the resource on the Logos website.

Could someone please clarify what the GK resource actually is. Also, could you give a link to the page on Logos' website where it can be found?

    Shalom Larry!

    The GK numbering system was first introduced in the NIV Exhaustive Concordance (edited by Edward W. Goodrick and John R. Kohlenberger III).

    It is basically a modern alternative to the Strong's numbering system. There are several resources in Logos that use the GK numbers alongside the Strong's numbers, e.g. NIDOTTE or BDB.

    Hmmm... Interesting! So, it's an alternative numbering system to Strong's, but, unlike Strong's, there is no actual GK lexicon.

    So, how can one use the GK links for something useful? As it stands right now in my library, the GK links simply open up Strong's. This is redundant since the Strong's number link is already present and I can simply click on it to open Strong's.

    Is there a way that I could prioritize the GK links to open another resource besides Strong's? Say Brown-Driver-Briggs, for example? If so, how would I do that? I've played with the Advanced Prioritization Limits in BDB, but could never set it up so that a click on a GK link would open it...it continues to open Strong's.

    Any ideas?

    You have to make sure that BDB (or another lexicon that uses GK numbers) is above your highest prioritized Strong's lexicon:

    This also applies to the TWOT numbers. Just promote TWOT above your favorite Strong's lexicon.
