Doing a Concordance Search

In L3, a concordance search was/is one highlight and two clicks. What hoops do I have to jump through to get a concordance search in L-now?

I knew it was much more complicated in today's version than it was in L3, but half-an-hour later and still no response...it must be much worse than I imagined. lol

  • Searching Logos Blog for Libronix concordance => https://blog.logos.com/?s=libronix+concordance includes article => Logos 4: Locate Occurrences of an Original Word or Strong’s Number whose steps still work (albeit "Search this resource" in Logos 4 has become "Search: Bible" in Logos 8+)

Another idea is linking Bible Word Study with a Bible so click on a Bible word causes BWS lemma update with rings having verse translations (can click middle of ring to see all verses OR click a ring segment for a subset).

In L3, I used to go to the tap, turn it on, and get water. Now, I have to engage in a process that includes a dozen to two dozen steps, and after lots of unnecessarily wasted time and the onset of heart palpitations, I get a list of all kinds of possible water: sparkling water, alkaline water, tonic water, flavored water, on and on ad nauseum...and the whole time, I JUST WANT TAP WATER. Oh, you can have that too, of course, but only as an option among the many others that require the around-your-back-to-get-to-your-nose procedures. This is not progress! It is failure. Jettisoning the simple to promote the advanced is failure. I'm not against the advanced, and I'm not against sparkling water, but I shouldn't have to give up the next to no-effort procedures that have worked well and successfully in order to have the agonizing glitz and glam of the modern.

I appreciate your response. How would I go about doing this?

Right-clicking a word in an interlinear, and selecting lemma (left-side), then search this resource/Bible comes closest to Englishman's (in the display, at top, select 'Aligned', as per KSFJ).

To get the EC translation summary, you again right-click-word > select-lemma > BWS, and look at the pretty graph.

But Libby's fast-on the draw for quick scan of usage, combining translation counts with in-context display. L-xx, a bit of this and that. Of course, Libby's is Strongs ... lemmas are a bit more check-able.

Yes, dependence of Strong's has some shortcomings...about 1 time in 100-200 or more searches. I can find and recognize those hiccups as I encounter them...but in the meantime, I am saving, over marathon study, HOURS UPON HOURS of my precious and extraordinarily valuable time getting what I need in a lickety-split instant. I can compensated for the shortcomings of Strong's and still be waaaaay ahead of the game compared to Logos-current.

Ol' George never could see past the shortcomings of Strong's, and nor could he see the shortcomings of HALOT and BDAG, of which there are plenty. Compared to using those two brutes, Strong's can probably save a person doing heavy study days or a even a week or more over a year's time. Different tools have different uses, and most of the time good enough is good enough. L3 was a plastic cup. Logos-since is a crystal wine glass. I almost never use or want to use glass.

Not begrudging Libby's tremendous prowess for quick answers. But I'm bizaare-ly enjoying my akkadian dictionary (CAD). And it's the same reason I prefer MM (greek). Context.  You really need to see context lists, when you're 3-4,000 years later. Which is why the quick in-context, combined with frequency-pattern is a Libby favorite.

One highlight and two clicks: https://community.logos.com/forums/t/15287.aspx (the sides of the context menu have changed, but the process is the same).

Personally closed all tabs followed by dragging a Bible from shortcut bar to desired tab location on left side, then clicked three dots (on right side of tab:

Clicking A in Link Set line puts Bible in Link Set A. Next clicked Guides, followed by dragging Bible Word Study (BWS) to my desired Tab location, then clicked three dots (on right side of BWS):

Clicking A in Link Set adds BWS to Link Set A so both tabs shows Link Set identifier of A:

Now a single click on a Bible Word causes lemma to appear in BWS: e.g. Rejoice in Philippians 4:4 followed by clicking "greeting, Greetings" in BWS ring to show those 8 verses:

Navigated Bible to Dt6.4 followed by clicking Hear in Deuteronomy 6:4 to change BWS lemma then clicked "hear, hearing, hears" in BWS ring:
