Upgrade?
I am a Logos 8.17 user having come over from Wordsearch after the acquisition.
I am now getting notifications to upgrade to Logos 9, but the cost is EXTREMELY high, and it looks like I need to buy a pile of extra resources I don't need (I use Accordance for academix study).
Is it possible simply to upgrade the software? I am happy with my library already. I can't afford hundreds of pounds for resources I neither need nor want.
Advice please. Thanks.

Yes! The software will be available for free in the early part of next year.

The free software engine (now called Logos Basic) will be made available probably around late Feb/early March. No need to upgrade if you don't have the funds. I wish they wouldn't harass current users with all those notifications.

You can turn off or unsubscribe from all of them.

If you are happy with what your L8 does, you don't need to upgrade; it will still work. When the free version of L9 is released, you may move to that, or continue to use L8... In fact, L7 still works. https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_Release_History
If you wish to consider a feature upgrade to L9 it's also possible (though might not be worth it. There are different levels: see https://www.logos.com/product/195567/logos-9-starter-feature-upgrade which has links to the other levels.
