Bible text only filter makes Preface disappear

I went to read the Preface of the New King James Version, and there was no text at all, only little timeline flags. I realized it was because I have the Bible Text Only filter enabled in the bible to not show "Non-Bible text." I opened the NABRE, for which I also have the Bible Text Only filter enabled, and have the same problem.

I know that I can just temporarily turn the filter off to read the Preface, but I would think that the visual filters in the bibles would be designed to only impact the biblical text and not the frontmatter in the bible. Just because I don't want to see the very large bold distracting subtitles in the NKJV (I wish Logos would shrink those) doesn't mean I don't want to have access to the front matter in my bibles.

This is one of the occasions that I wish there were a 'please don't do this' button on the suggestions.

I much prefer that things like 'Bible Text Only' do exactly 'what it says on the tin'.

I agree with you Mike, but think the failure to get votes is a way to help people to understand that their preferences are not everyone's preferences.

There's a reason I didn't make this a formal suggestion. Sometimes it's also helpful to DISCUSS things with other humans to figure out what people's perspectives are to see if there are others who feel the same way you do before you very mechanically just cluttering the feedback site with suggestions with 1 vote. I didn't even make a suggestion, I just complained about current functionality and offered my opinion on how I'd prefer it to work. The whole purpose was for other people to chime in with their thoughts.

I know the feedback page exists and do not need to be reminded to put things there. I have already put several things over there. If I didn't in this particular case it was for a reason. I don't need "help to understand" that we don't all have the same preferences, that whole purpose of the post was to see what other people's preferences might be. I know you don't mean anything bad by it but this type of attitude and communication could be why people think you're condescending. I know you're not trying to be but it's rather frustrating sometimes and I struggled with how/whether to respond to your first comment. The second one put me over the top to take the time to respond. I understand where you and MJ are coming from. On the other hand we all know there must be dozens of threads over the years by users who are missing the preface in their bible and have absolutely no idea where it went. Those must be the tip of the iceberg of many many users who feel the same but won't or at least don't write it into the forum. They just go away with a bad feeling about their software.

That said, I think the more user-friendly way would be to have a small grey information text saying "Multiple pages of text currently not being displayed due to your visual filter settings." Even more friendly this could continue with a button "Show anyway?"

This was me momentarily. It took me a moment to figure out why it was blank except for the timeline flags.

There's also inconsistency with how the two bibles shown above are functioning. The NKJV has timeline flags (because I have that visual filter enabled) but is otherwise blank. The NABRE, on the other hand, has a few people's names and titles (I'm assuming they were on the committee for the NABRE) but the rest of the info (title page, copyright info, etc.) before and after the names is blank, and it (helpfully) retains the table of contents. If this counts as non-bible text I'm not sure why it's still there. The ToC might be there b/c it's hyperlinked text that gets you to the bible, but I'm not sure why the committee member names would be retained. (The NKJV doesn't have a table of contents in the first place so it's technically not missing.)
