highlights will not delete

Many of my resources (especially the NASB) came FROM LOGOS already saturated with numerous, annoying, highlighted passages that (I repeat) came that way from LOGOS when I purchased the resource. To be clear, I did NOT do the highlighting. These preinstalled highlights will not delete. This includes strange symbols like question marks, Boldened and colored (orange outline) words, etc. How do I restore the book, particularly my NASB Bible to a non-highlighted version? To be more clear, I have no difficulty deleting highlights that I originate. I want to delete highlights that others have somehow uploaded to the resource that LOGOS has in turn sold to me and installed on my computer. Also, I am able to go to the web version of my library and delete both my highlights AND the preinstalled highlights, but not on the version on my computer. The newly deleted highlights on the web-version will NOT sync to my installed version. So! I do not need to know how to delete my own highlights, or web version highlights, that works fine. I need to know how to delete the myriad highlights that came already installed on my Logos resources that were clearly done by someone else BEFORE Logos installed it on my computer.

Please take a screenshot showing what you are describing and include it in a reply to this thread (using the paperclip icon in the forum editor)

That should help us understand what is causing this.

And, just to check, what version of Logos software are you running? You have posted this in the Logos 7 forum - and there have been two major upgrades since then

Here are merely two screen shots: #1= red underlines came with the resource, #2 orange outlined words came with the resource (NASB Bible) obviously highlighted by someone else and now downloaded to my computer, and LOCKED. When I go into my "NOTES" in Logos, there are 14,959 "notes" (highlights) made in just my NASB Bible alone. 7 of them were "authored" by me, which I can edit. ALL of the others have a locked padlock symbol on them, which when I l hover the cursor over it, it states that I can only "view" the note (which is merely a highlight - red underline, orange outlined words, triple underlines, double underlines, yellow highlights, etc.). Very annoying!

Sorry, when I do screen shots and paste into this forum it responds with an error. (is the file too large??) They appear as the normal variety of highlights.

Since my initial post, I have discovered that when I look in the "NOTES" section on my Logos software, I can see every highlight in ALL of my resources. It further allows me to filter by various ways, including whether I authored them or not. It shows that MY Logos resources have 41,064 highlights, and 1,111 were authored by me. Those 1,111 allow me to edit (i.e. remove or change the highlighting). The remaining 39,953 highlights are LOCKED, including the 14,958 annoying highlights in my NASB Bible. They each have a "locked padlock symbol" on the "note" which indicates (when I hover the cursor over the symbol) that I can only view the "note" ("highlight" in this case). So, again, how do I remove these "locked" highlights? Plus, it would be nice to know where they came from AND how to prevent other people from highlighting or making notes in MY Logos resources.

Ron when you mouse over the highlights where do they say they originated?

I have also found deleting highlights sometimes is requiring me to open - let's say NASB95 by it self - then it will allow deleting. Try that and see if it works. Also, us the "erase" button in HL bar, or crtl-shft-k. I have deleted whole pages of HL's, but when it doesn't work- I have to try several methods to succeed.

Try deleting the pallet on the HL bar as well, or delete NASB, NASB95, etc file from Logos whichever it is and see if it works.

I started with Logos 6 but have upgraded each time and now have have Logos 9

Resolved my "issue" with annoying "Highlights." Stephanie at Logos on a "chat" session pointed me to the Visual filter (the three dots) in each resource when open. I needed to "uncheck" the "Notes and Highlights (Corresponding)" box. This may have become "checked" when I upgraded to Logos 9. Thanks for your help, everyone.
