Printing/Exporting Notes with Bible verse references with or without text

I can’t seem to figure out how to: 1) selectively show verse reference &/or verse text for Note Anchors; 2) Print/Export Notes showing verse reference &/or verse text.  Show Full Anchor Text is selected in all the following cases.

CASE 1

Select the verse text and select the highlight directly from the open pallet, the Anchor with the verse reference and text is shown in the Note

If attempt to Print/Export the Note, only get the verse text without the verse reference.

CASE 2

Select the verse text, and then right click

Choosing the last highlight icon, get just the verse reference in the Note, but no text.

Print/Export the Note, just the verse reference and not the verse text.

CASE 3

Add an Anchor, after adding a highlight from the sub panel selected to Add another Anchor

Selecting Print/Export, get the verse reference and not verse text for either Anchor.

CASE 4

Select the verse, then added the highlight from the Highlight Panel, get the verse reference and text like before.  But if Add another Anchor, just get the verse reference.

And in the Print/Export Panel, get the verse text with no reference, and just the verse reference for the added Anchor.

CASE 5

Adding another Anchor to the Note, but instead of adding it as a reference, adding the Anchor based on selected Bible text.  Existing Note has 2 Anchors already.

Adding a 3rd Anchor based on Selected Text.

But, when Print/Export is selected for that Note, only text is shown with no corresponding Bible reference, just like in other cases.

Have looked thru the Program Settings; reviewed training videos; looked thru Helps, Wiki, Forums, etc. but no good.  Tried every combination I can think of, what am I missing?

Any suggestions, other than cut and paste into external Logos document.

Basically, notes come in two forms:

    • by reference i.e. the anchor shows as a reference and can be shown in any resource indexed by that reference type
    • by selection i.e. the ancho shows as a selection of text from a specific resource and shows only in that resource.

The Add anchor function simply defines which of the above is created.

The Show full anchor text  IIRC applies only within the note tool.

To the best of my knowledge, the function you want is not available in Logos, although I would love to be proven wrong. The work around is to copy the text into the note itself.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    MJ thanks for the response.

I did not make the anchor location connection, even though now it makes sense.  I'd try toggling the Show full anchor text and didn't get the expected response.  Albeit I was focused on the other issue...

I thought of pasting the verse back into the Note, but thought that would be redundant at the time.  Now I'll rethink where I want to place the Note, and then make sure everything I think I'll need in the future is contained within the Note.  Decided to complete what I'm working on by using the export feature into Word, cut and paste what else I need (including graphics as they don't print or export from Notes).  And then continue up on the Wordsearch transition learning curve...

yep, that's my understanding, too. It's a design bug for the "by selection" notes, as they store the selected text, the reference and the source, but don't give them for print/export.

The workaround is to put the missing information into the note's text body.

An alternative but incomplete workaround would be to use multiple anchors to a note, but then you end up with duplicate note markers in the Logos resource, and the actual source for the selected text, i.e. from which translation it comes, is still not given (which is less of an issue in situations where bible notes are printed, and it's always the same translation that's referenced).
