Incomplete Bibliographical information in Clippings

I have noticed that in some bibliographical styles, clippings do not record page numbers.  Page numbers are included in APA, but not in Chicago or SBL2.

Is there a setting I am missing or is this a bug?

    Welcome Donald,

Is there a setting I am missing or is this a bug?

It is likely due to the style, type of resource (bible, monograph w/out page numbers, multi-contributors). If you can find the page number and an appropriate citation chart, you could add them manually. Note that page numbers are not required in every instance by a particular style.

Thanks, Dave, for your post.  I use Chicago and SBL (2nd ed) all the time and with the books (mostly commentaries) I am using, page numbers are required for footnote/endnote citations, but not bibliographies and reference lists.  What creates the impression that something is amiss is that if I export or print a selection from a book, the full citation that is given includes page numbers.  Yes, I could add the page numbers manually, but that would diminish the ease of use of the clippings document for me.  But again, thanks for your post.

What creates the impression that something is amiss is that if I export or print a selection from a book, the full citation that is given includes page numbers.

Please post some examples to illustrate this.

In a clipping I have APA Style:

Johnson, A. F. (1981). Revelation. In F. E. Gaebelein (Ed.), The Expositor’s Bible Commentary: Hebrews through Revelation (Vol. 12, p. 554). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House.

From the resource Information page, I get:

Johnson, A. F. (1981). Revelation. In F. E. Gaebelein (Ed.), The Expositor’s Bible Commentary: Hebrews through Revelation (Vol. 12). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House.

When I paste the text in Word I get:

Johnson, A. F. (1981). Revelation. In F. E. Gaebelein (Ed.), The Expositor’s Bible Commentary: Hebrews through Revelation (Vol. 12, p. 554). Grand Rapids, MI: Zondervan Publishing House.

Chicago and SBL both have the volume and page number in the Clipping.
