Mysteriously vanished beta

I updated to the new beta, and happily printed out a copy of a Biblical Archaeology Review article to test it out, which worked great. So I definitely had the beta installed. Then I installed a pdf printer, so I can print logos articles to pdf. Then I closed Logos and opened it again from my quicklaunch icon (in Xp SP3).

But when I opened it again (and now), my shortcuts disappeared, replaced by the italicized text "shortcuts" And the printing option was gone. So I went Help>About Logos Software, and it says 4.0d RC 1 (4.04.4.1201) (update channel:beta)

When I type "update now" it says it's up to date. And when I try to do it manually, it also says "no updates were found"... So something thinks I'm using the Beta, but I don't have beta features available and the program says it's not the new beta. [:S]

Your setup log is from July 1 prior to the beta. It's almost as if your system was restored to a point prior to the beta update, however, data files, such as logs, wouldn't be overwritten. If you close Logos 4 and run the setup from the following link, does it install the 4.1 beta? http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/InstallerBeta/Logos4Setup.exe

Nope. Says it's up to date. And I generated that log file today pressing ctrl on startup. It's odd.

You might try deleting the most recent folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Ben\Local Settings\Application Data\Logos4\Data\rid5e5zl.p10\UpdateManager\Installers, then try the update again.

That didn't do it either. I turned on constant logging, and it generated two new files. Attached.5518.logos4setup.zip

Problem solved, new problem created. I've been running L4 out of a separate partition, in , and that's the version my quicklaunch icon is connected to.

However, the beta update installed itself into the first partition, C:

When I go into the appropriate folder in C: lo! a new L4 exe, which opens up the beta.

So, I have the beta, but there's an issue with the installer not installing into the where L4 is actually installed.
