I write daily devotionals and use the RCL Daily Lectionary as my base. I would like to be able to integrate my devotional template with the (and really, any) lectionary.

Is there a way to do that?

    5 bump

[quote]Bump is an online slang term for the practice of posting filler comments to move a post to the top of a discussion thread, increasing a message or thread’s status and visibility. Where does bump come from? How is bump used in real life?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Hi Ian

I notice that this post has been bumped a couple of times. I am somewhat unclear about what you want to accomplish. Perhaps a screenshot of your devotional layout and another of the lectionary layout would help us visualise what is required?

Sorry for the long time in responding. I didn't get a notice of your question (though I got the bumps, weird).

So, using the Sermon Manager, I had it populate the Daily Lectionary for the season of Epiphany (that has been awesome). However, I have some basic (really basic) stuff I populate in every devotional (a daily occurrence). I would like to use the Sermon Manager's ability to prepopulate the season's daily readings with the items in the template.

With as little as I populate for my devotionals, I keep the template I created and copy and paste it. Not the biggest deal. I just realize that for those who write full blown sermons, it might be a bigger deal, especially when it comes to prompts. Now that I think about it, especially as we are going to really have to develop ourselves and our sermons for SEO, a template with appropriate prompting would be really helpful. Now I'm going to have to tweak my template to do that, too.

I figured another screenshot might help:

You can choose the Lectionary "template", but that really is only the scriptures and liturgical day (not a knock, I really appreciate it). It would be helpful to either know what I need to do for a template that utilizes the lectionary AND has some pre-filled items

I thought a screenshot might help. When creating the pre-filled templates, having the ability to select two templates (or knowing how to build one using the lectionary) would be great.

Thanks, Ian the screenshot helped me understand that the help you require is 'beyond my ken'. But there are others here more knowledgeable than I.
