I just discovered that when I use the shortcut to remove a highlight in any resource the note that highlight had created in the Notes Tool still remains! Now I have a bunch of orphaned highlight notes left behind cluttering up my notebooks and Notes Tool. Not good.Super Angry

If this isn't a bug, Please make it so deleting the highlight in the resource also deletes the note itself. other wise I have to find each note by individually searching it out and manually deleting it. Not GoodAngry

Thanks for listening.Big Smile

This change would wreak havoc for me as I may wish to delete a highlight but retain the information in the note. If there is no other information in the note other than the highlight it would be acceptable. But my workflow is often:

    • highlight texts I wish to add a label for
    • add labels
    • create visual filter based on labels
    • delete highlights

You have to be careful with Erase Highlight CTRL+Shift+K

    • A Note with highlighted text (same as icon or a style)  can be deleted.
    • A Highlight with or w/out a note will be deleted.
    • It will partially erase the text of a Note or a Highlight

In the latter case, you have to select all the text (and punctuation) to remove the entry in the Notes tool.

But, if you right-click anywhere and select Delete Notes and Highlights, the highlight/note will be completely removed.

I see your point. However my understanding of your workflow is what "notes" are for. You can do all of this from there including add or delete highlights, correct? I have always intended my highlights as temporary means of bringing a word or phrase to my attention and when finished just delete them to clean up my resource.

Thank you for the insight into a different kind of workflow. I haven't used labels, not sure of their purpose or helpfulness. How do you use them? maybe an example?

I see Dave has a suggestion using the context menu that I was unaware of that may solve my highlight deleting dilemma.

Thank you Dave for this suggestion. I never noticed that option. Maybe that's why I use highlights the way I do [;)]

I have never used this nor even noticed. If I select Delete Notes and Highlights, which Notes and Highlights are deleted? The popup uses plural. I would be worried that all my >20,000 notes and highlights suddenly disappear.

The Logos GUI still needs to be improved.

If you right click anywhere in the highlight of the resource, select Delete Notes and Highlights in the right hand panel it will only delete the highlight and note of the highlight you right clicked on.

    No others will be affected.

Is that what you were referring too?
