I am using a MacBook Pro. All of a sudden I can no longer right click on a bible reference  and select "replace with passage" to insert bible verses into my Word document. When I select the reference, right click and select "replace with passage"...it will open logos if it is closed but will not insert the text. Seems to me that if will open logos it must be semi-working, am I missing something. I am using...Logo 9.1.0.0018 and Word for Mac 16.45

Any suggestions? Any Help?

Blessings,
Mike

If you can get access to it.... I believe WordSearch Zipscript will work for you. You might try downloading the freebie of Wordsearch and with that you will get Zipscript.

I use Zipscript all the time.  If it disappears I will miss it something awfull.

xn = Christan man=man -- Acts 11:26 "....and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch".

Hi Mike - and welcome to the forums

I'm afraid I'm seeing the same thing with the same versions of Logos and Word for Mac.

It does work for Pages so it seems as though the Logos invocation side is working but something seems to be broken in the interface with Word.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions to get it working but just wanted to acknowledge it looks to be a general problem.

I am hoping that FaithLife will pick up Zipscript and keep it alive by making it part of Logos. I believe it will add usefulness to Logos.

    IMHO...

Thanks everyone for the insights!  I have been using Pages and then copying and pasting the verse in Word. Hopefully someone will come up with a fix soon...this is a feature I used several times a week.

    Welcome [:D]

Thread => Insert/replace Scripture reference in Word on a Mac no longer working includes reply about Word 16.45 being problematic:

The problem here is not a conflict in shortcut keys, it's a problem with how Microsoft Word is interacting with the OS services. To test where the problem is, I changed the Text service from "Replace with Passage" to "TextEdit Window Containing Selection" to see what is actually being passed from Word. The result of that was an error from TextEdit stating:

Service failed. Couldn’t open the selection. There might be an internal error or a performance problem, or the source application may be providing text of invalid type in the service request. Please try the operation a second time. If that doesn’t work, copy/paste the selection into TextEdit.

If Logos doesn't receive something it can parse as a passage reference, it doesn't do anything (I believe that's why you could never use "Replace with Passage" in when the reference is the first characters of a bulleted list), so it just appears like the Text Service isn't working in Logos. In reality, the problem is on Microsoft's side, and if they're not sending the correct payload to the service, I doubt that there's anything Logos can do to fix it (other than inform Microsoft of the problem).

    OS: 10.15.7
    Word: 16.45
    Logos: 8.17.0.0022

    Keep Smiling [:)]
