Bible Search – use templates
The templates are intended to make it easy for a novice to run searches without remembering syntax. One can open it either from the directions (1) or from the open menu panel (2).
This offers the following templates:

Search 1 template: Build a search to find everywhere that Elijah speaks to or listens to God.
These both require Search Template à Speakers and Addressees à One Person Speaks to Another Person
Enter addressee:
Run search:
The second search is built as below:
Search 2 (modified) template: Find all occurrences of “Jesus Christ” or “Christ Jesus”
- “Jesus Christ” OR “Christ Jesus”
Search Templates à Basic à Either Term: This or That
With terms added:
Run query:
Search 4 template: Find all occasions where Jesus speaks to his mother.
- {Speaker <Person Jesus>} INTERSECT {Addressee <Person Mary (mother of Jesus)>}
This is the same problem as search 1 above,
Search 5 template: find the toldots in Genesis
- <Lemma = lbs/he/תּוֹלֵדוֹת> (toldot)
Search Templates à Original Language à Hebrew Root Word would include every birth
Search Templates à Original Language à Hebrew Word Translated as is a tighter search than I would like so with strong reservations:
Run the query it gets only one result in Genesis. So essentially you need to know the translation in the passages you want selected i.e. the original language templates are useful but limited.
Homework: Search 10: Find all the times that Jesus speaks of sheep using a template.
Homework: Search 11: Find all the times a Pharisee asks Jesus a question using a template.
