Difficulty with Sentence diagram

I am trying to build a block diagram. As far as I can tell there is no way to show the grid that is being snapped to. Because the movement of the text is slow and jerky, I can't tell where I've moved it into position or not. It got even worse when I tried to enter text in boxes to build a graphic representation of a pericope's structure.Net result is chaos in alignment.

I hope I'm just missing some fundamental element of the tool For a Kellogg-Reed diagram it appears to work well.

I am trying to build a block diagram.

I guess these are the observations of someone approaching the sentence diagramming tool without any prior knowledge of how it works.

I never attempted to construct such a diagram in L3, so I was at a total loss as to how I should proceed in making a block diagram. It seemed as if the individual words had a mind of their own. If I selected a line of text and attempted to move the words as a unit, the individual words seemed to line up in random positions above and below the other text and compressed and expanded without any apparent pattern. Right-click does nothing, and I could not predict what left click would do. After 2-3 minutes I gave up in frustration and deleted the document.

After having used the sentence diagramming tool in L3 and now L4...I find L4 to be a great improvement...I can't tell you how many times I've scraped a diagram in L3 because of the horrible snapping-to that didn't work right.

I don't see an option for a grid to be visible but I can say...just like pointing a gun....if you don't intent to attach....keep the object away from other objects....it will help.

I also noticed that "block" ability in L3 has disappeared in L4- I was hoping that they would have some improvment in that area.

But we are just getting started, how about it Logos any chance of having an enhanced block diagram feature?

Yes...that was a cool feature in L3....I'm sure it will be back...I used it a lot too.

I don't do block diagrams, I prefer to do clausal outlines similar to the Lexham resource (which some call block diagrams, but I'm going with the pictures I saw on the internet of them). Did you try working with this option? Speed didn't seem to be a concern as I was testing this example.

Isn't the above option what you were talking about? Do you mean diagrams like this? I found them as easy as L3

From the responses, I take it that the jerkiness in movement that makes it very difficult to align things as I would like isn't a common problem. So I'll look at my computer setup. I do think that grid lines would help.

Unfortunately, the most common "no intent to attach" attaching is putting text into a box.
