Babylon doesn't work with L4

A very handy way for me to read and understand unfamiliar words in english text is the translation software Babylon(.com). Point mouse on a word and click Ctrl+Right click and You get a translation in desired language. It's working fine with L3 but not at all with L4. I thought it may depend on my old version (7.0).

Today I upgrade Babylon to 8.0 but there is no difference. Logos 4 isn't compatible with Babylon. Babylon didn't "recognize" any text inside L4. "Foreign" customer, like me, may be depending in this kind of software to fasten up their reading and understanding.

I think it would be great if Babylon will work with Logos software in the future.

Hello Ebbe, it's interesting what you say about using the Babylon software to translate words in Logos. I never tried that. What I do is to double click on the word and get Collins Lexicon opened with the English definition of the word. Works well for me. I prioritized Collins for English language to do that. But you are right, if you have Babylon, it is better solution, it might be a problem of Babylon however, not Logos if it is not working properly. We will see what answer you'll get.

    Bohuslav, Thank You!

I haven't Collins in my library but i have Merriam-Webster. I will try Your suggestion. I think it's OK with me but having Babylon working in L4 would be great.

Bohuslav, I tested Your suggestion but this approach give some limitation in Logos functionality. If I (whitout Merriam-Webster as prioritized) doble click "dragon" TDNT will open. If I double click "angels" YALE will open and if I double click "expulsion" BDB will open. This is what You will miss if You use double click as reading help.

Hm... I don't know. It might be Collins difference, but when I tried texts with the same words as you, it always opened Collins with the definition. Then I can use arrow to switch to some other prioritized resource, in make case it is ISBE and Anchor Yale, but Anchor doesn't work well, I don't know why. I think it is because it is not tagged as a dictionary. I never use Webster, so I am not able to say. I will try it however.

I tried it, prioritized the Merriam-Webster and it works the same as Collins. Do you have it as #1 resource for English?

Ebbe, just one thing I noticed. In Logos 4 you can actually (and I do it all the time) to have Info panel opened and see the definitions right on the top of the info. just as I go through the text and hover over the word (or click) it shows info. I noticed however that Collins English Dictionary 8th ed. works faster and gives better results than Merriam-Webster 11ed. See the picture:
