highlighting during sermon

I would like to highlight some imperatives during an upcoming sermon during the actual sermon and then have the ability to remove the highlight quickly. I was watching a YouTube vide of Mark Winger do this, but cannot replicate it. I can highlight by clicking and dragging and then hit a shortcut key, but Mark seems to just drag and it highlights as he drags. I only have all the features of L8--but not L9 if that makes any difference. For instance, I do not have Canvas (maybe that is where Mark does it.) I have tried a number of options but nothing seems to work. (For instance, I pressed F8 to Draw on Screen, but the little yellow dot I get to do that is too small for me to find quickly in the midst of a sermon. Any help? Thanks in advance.

This may have been done using the "Proclaim Remote APP" the app on a phone or tablet permits the speaker to mark up Proclaim slides. - https://proclaim.faithlife.com/features/remote

Sometimes words have more than one meaning. I think Graham and I both assumed that you meant that he "created a highlight," which isn't the case. Indeed, all he is doing is clicking and dragging. He isn't creating a "highlight," but yes, when you click & drag it does "highlight" the selection, which disappears when you move the cursor.

There are things which may change this behavior somewhat. I will post about those in a bit.

In app settings / preferences, make sure to do the following. Under "Text Display"

Show selection menu needs to be turned off.
Text Selection needs to be either character or word

I think those are the two things you will need to make sure you set or change.
