In spite of being a long time Logos user, with Logos 9 coming out, I have gone back to some of the basic training materials and have seen how you have greatly improved library management, both by making it easy to display materials by subject and by adding additional “types” so you can find what you want faster. It is indeed a great improvement, but like everything on this earth, it can be improved.
The first thing that surprised me was when I pulled up the filter, clicked the subjects “Bible-N.T.” and then “Ephesians” that this month’s Anchor Bible freebie did not display. To see it, I would have to click “Ephesians 1-3” instead. After looking for other examples, this seems to be consistent behavior. Can this search look for concated strings instead of full strings to catch this? That would certainly be more the results I would expect.
I see that you are introducing more “types” – and tagging more and more resources with these updated types. When I look through the Loebs I have, I wonder if Augustine’s Confessions and various Letter collections should have the original language texts tagged as “Ancient Manuscript” instead of Autobiography or Letters, like it looks like you do for Popular Patristics. I certainly understand that this is a judgment call, but personally I would prefer that the original language texts have tags that show this.
You have added a type for Old Testament and New Testament Introductions. Neither of the two Old Testament Introductions I have been reading lately are included in this type – namely the two very different works of J. J. Collins and Steinmann. And Steinmann’s companion, namely Middendorf, is not tagged as a New Testament Introduction.
