This is not an Atals but a bible study from the Christian Basics Bible Study Series.  As an e-book I would expect it be of type Monograph. When it is converted to a full Logoso Book at the point I'd expect it be of type Bible Study.

This expectation needs to be modified with the introduction of the various new types. In my library, eBooks are spread across 11 types

EBooks are not indexed and haphazardly tagged.  To me if a book is assigned a type other than monograph then it should be fully tagged & linked.

E-books are hit and miss tagging of bible references and any other linking if it exists at all. By assigning a type other than monograph to an e -Book is a sign FL are further dropping their standards  And I do not support this dropping of standards. My standards have not changed over the years. FL‘s sadly have declined. I will not change my expectations of quality because you tell me too or because FL drops their commitment to quality.

I think the current change in types is a conscious decision by FL to get away from the former usage of type being related (mostly) to functionality based on the index/tagging, which resulted in a large percentage of books being monographs. Now the types try to differentiate genres of works, even if there's no difference in tagging or no tagging applied.

I assume that the feedback from WS users factored in to this. The genre-based association of type of course doesn't mesh well with the fact that some works are not tagged & indexed according to their genre (eBooks being the prime example, whether they be bible commentaries, calendar devotionals or what not - but they are not the only ones).

Whereas I asked for eBooks that had no other tagging requirements (e.g. catechisms) to be categorized in their natural type i.e. catechism.

By assigning proper types to ebooks that are not monographs, Faithlife is raising its own standards for the ebooks that it sells.
