Logos 9 Freezing on Mac
I have a new 27" iMac running Big Sur 11.2.3. I am running the current version of Logos 9. When opening the program, the program starts fine. However, when I click on the Library button, the Library window will open and then it becomes unusable because it freezes.
If I force quit and then reopen Logos, the Library window will then perform as expected. Anyone have any ideas or tips to correct this situation? If this has been posted elsewhere, I apologize in advance. Thanks!

Also, in addition, when I do finally get the Library window to open and populate correctly, if I click on the Store button within the Library pane, it causes the system to freeze up as well. Don't know if that is any help in diagnosing the issue or not.

Hi Thomas - and welcome to the forums
But sorry to hear you are having problems.
I recommend enabling diagnostic logging on your Mac. Then, when the program freezes leave it for a few seconds, force quite and upload logs in a reply to this post (using the paperclip icon in the forum editor)
Details for diagnostic logging are at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027869132-How-to-Enable-and-Submit-Log-Files

LogosError.log
Thanks for your reply. Hopefully I've done this correctly. Here is a log.0 -
Thanks Thomas
Here is a log.
There should be a file there called logos.log
Please upload that as well.

Sorry about that. First time here. Logos.log

Sorry about that. First time here
No problem at all
(The error log will show specific errors, the logos.log file provides a lot of context and a trail of everything that has happened)
One thing I noted was that it contains a couple of occurrences of this string:
2021-04-09 11:11:07.9810 ERROR 1 LibraryCatalog | No localized value found for resource type 'text.monograph.concordance'
I don't quite know what that means but I think it is probably signifanct and may help explain what you are seeing.
Hopefully someone from Faithlife (or someone with more knowledge than me) will see this thread and comment further. If not, I'll try and flag it for attention

I had this exact same problem last week and emailed logs to tech support. They set up an appt and called me and then logged onto my iMac and spent about an hour reproducing the problem in various ways. Apparently there is a conflict with the 5k retina display monitors. They do not know the cause, but are working on a solution. Meanwhile, they had me go into Program Settings and change the Content Scaling option from 120% to 100%. That solves the problem. They are trying to track down what the conflict is so that the program can be fixed, but mean while changing the Content Scaling setting to 100% will get you up and running. At least it did for me.

That's interesting. I just went in and checked my settings and I'm at 100% as is. I've wondered since I'm migrating from Wordsearch to Logos if something isn't amiss since it's pertaining the Library window. Guess I'll see if one of their tech guys chimes in with a possible answer. I've also thought about removing the program and doing a reinstall as well.

I've also thought about removing the program and doing a reinstall as well.
I did that and it made no difference except for wasting several hours of time, assuming we both have the same problem, which seems likely.

As John says, that is unlikely to fix the problem

Yes, my only thought in doing so would've been if there was a corrupt file or something causing the freeze up.

The data files and the application live in different places. Deleting and reinstalling the app, by itself, would leave the corrupted file in place for the new installation.

Hi Thomas
I would recommend doing the same as John did and contact Customer Services to see if they can look into this further and advise.
Their contact details are at https://www.logos.com/contact
Hope you get this sorted soon, Graham
