Why doesn't the selection panel for the multiview panel allow me to add the NJB Notes? I have saved groupings that contain it but can no longer add it? I may be missing the obvious but ...

The reason the NJB Notes isn't visible is that you've already added it to your configuration by selecting "The New Jerusalem Bible" series. You can tell it's the series rather than the resource, because there is no short title listed to the left of the full title.
