Faithlife assistant: Tools
For this specific purpose “Atlas” refers to the Atlas database not to the various atlas resources you find in your library. The results will have the corresponding Basic search beside them as we have not specifically discussed the Atlas search outside the context of the Everything search.
To Faithlife assistant: Open the atlas to Jericho
Response: The Atlas tool is opened to the “Biblical World – Life of Jesus” map. Separately, I opened a Basic Search panel set to search the Atlas for <Place Jericho (New Testament)>; it’s first result matches the Atlas tool as opened by Faithlife assistant.
To Faithlife assistant: Show a map of Barak and Deborah rout Siseras army
Response: The behavior is identical except the response is much slower looking for an event rather than a location.
To Faithlife assistant: Show me a map of Jerusalem.
Response: Similarly, “Open Atlas” and “Show me a map” produce the same results.
To Faithlife assistant: Show me a map of Paul’s second missionary journey.
Response: This is a second example of the use of an event to request a map.
To Faithlife assistant: Show me photos of Jerusalem
Response: For photographs, the Media tool is invoked rather than the Atlas tool. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to direct the Media search to the same collection of resources.
To Faithlife assistant: Show me images of a tomb.
Response: the comments on photos of Jerusalem apply also to images of a tomb. In the Media search, the high level item “Images” is selected which shows as the selection of all the subcategories under it.
Note that the Media tool is facet driven in a manner similar to the Bible Browser.
