Multiple layouts on two or more monitors

I thought I would share a tip that some might use.  I generally use a laptop with a second monitor.  After I have loaded both windows with a layout I am using, I can then minimize either display and then drag whatever I want into the blank window.  Then I can take my cursor to the task bar and hover over the Logos icon and choose between any of the additional layouts.  So, for example, I could have a greek study layout on the second monitor and minimize it and set up a hebrew study layout, if I need to make that change quickly.  So lets say you want to occasionally add to a note, passage list, etc., you could just keep that layout you set up minimized until you need it.  It is just a quick way to change to a part time layout. You can set up several of these if you need to.

Jerry are you saying you can run two iterations of Logos at once?

Paul,  if I understand your question, the answer is no.  Logos is only controlled by your primary monitor to an extent.  In other words, as far as I know, I can only open new tools and books from the primary monitor. But I can make duplicates of whatever I already have open.  So I can make as many layouts as I want for the second monitor and the extra ones will be hidden on my task bar (and perhaps behind the existing window).  If I minimize my primary monitor, I can only drag resources from the second monitor to it.  I am new to much of this so excuse me if I am unclear or mistaken about the way this works.  By the way if you save a layout that covers two monitors and you have a third layout hidden on your task bar and you name and save that layout, Logos will bring back all three windows when you open that layout again.  I hope this answers your question. I find the flexibility of Logos very interesting!

P.S.  Those who have multiple monitors know you must use a floating window to open resources in a second monitor, but I failed to mention it, so I do now.  You can also drag several resources into a single folder in the favorites tool.  You can right click on that folder and open them in a floating window to move to the second monitor.  I do this with the Lexham books for the language videos.  There is very little on multiple monitor use in the wiki or tutorials, perhaps one of the "stars" will be inspired!
