Logos 9 Desktop App (macOS Big Sur) appearing like TV Static Suddenly?!?

Hello!

I have a strange problem that has suddenly appeared on my computer, but first a caveat for you: I'm running Logos 9 (v. 9.4.0.0009) on macOS 11.2.3 as a "hackintosh". In other words, I am running macOS on computer built out of non-Apple hardware.

That being said, prior to today (May 5, 2021), everything was working well. Logos was absolutely great on my system. This morning, suddenly, when I started working on Logos, the "Home" page is displaying like old-fashioned television static (see the attached screenshot). Interestingly, the normal workspace seems to be totally fine.

Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts as to how I could fix it (other than switching to Windows)?

I can't provide any help... sorry in advance. I am intrigued, however. My only real suggestions would be to restart the computer and/or update software... although the later might present problems related to your unofficial status.

Since you have a screenshot and not a video, I was wondering if the static moves, or if the static is... static. If the later, have you tried crossing your eyes to see the hidden picture? [:P]

I have restarted the computer, to no avail, but I am working on updating to macOS 11.3.1...will see if that helps/fixes the problem.

We did build the computer ourselves...my son and I...mostly him the first time around, but now I do most of the work on it myself. For the vast majority it works perfectly. This is one of the few "quirks" I've had, and it's only shown up after about a year of using the system.

The static is not "static" (LOL), it does move around just like on a TV. That makes crossing my eyes to see the hidden picture really, really hard...but I did give it a shot! ;-)

UPDATE: SOLVED!

Just to update anyone who's interested in my weird little issue, I believe I have it fixed.

A day or two ago I was working with my OpenCore and BIOS/EFI settings to get the computer to display it's initial startup sequence using my discrete GPU (instead of the built-in "integrated GPU"). There are reasons for why I wanted to do this that I won't get into now. Regardless, while I was successful in making the switch over, I believe that one of the things that ended up happening was that my hackintosh was trying to use the iGPU for processing the display of various elements on my monitor—kind of supplementing the power of the dGPU. Unfortunately, the settings to get macOS to do this with my iGPU were not quite right, and, hence, certain modules in Logos were displaying as "static" instead of as they ought.

For now, I have fixed it by disabling the iGPU altogether in the BIOS/EFI settings. There should be a way for me to enable the iGPU to do that supplemental processing properly for me, but I'm not going to mess with that for the time being. In the meanwhile, disabling the iGPU has made it so that Logos displays perfectly well, just as it had before.
