For the example consider the use of Malachi in the New Testament. The New Testament Use of the Old Testament interactive table format shows us there are 25 instances made up of 16 allusions, 6 echoes and 3 citations

This can be confirmed by running the search {Label Intertext WHERE Corpus ~ "New Testament" AND Source ~ <Mal>} on the NRSV.

The count differs because 1 Cor 10:21 is counted once in the search and twice in the interactive.

The same data is shown in the Bible Book Explorer: Intertext view but without visible counts. However, on mouse-over, the count is shown for that specific arc. In this case it shows that Revelation has two intertextual relationships with Malachi.

As the {Label Intertext} search is based on corpus, turn to the New Testament Use of the Old Testament interactive to verify this result. Note below, the search is easily written when one limits the passages to Malachi.

When one applies mouse-over to a piece of the outside arc, the image changes to highlight just that set of intertextual relationships.

Click on the red arc initiates a search giving one the actual references.

A few additional points:

• These examples have all been run using all intertextual types. The behavior is the same if one limits the chart to citations, quotations, allusions, or echos.
• The data displayed shows as an intertextual label in the context menu.
• In the New Testament Use of the Old Testament interactive one has the choice of Biblical order on source or on target. One may optionally also show the original language text
