I am totally loving the LTUBKH (Learn to Use Biblical Greek and Hebrew) vids.  I guess I am an "objective" (verb) kinda guy.  Seriously good stuff! Thx a BUNCH Logos! (Michael Heiser!)

Ok so my VM on the MB Pro just totally crashed hard while dual screening the vids and creating visual filters, but hey I'm ok!  rofl I can't believe I'm actually saying that!  Seriously excited!

Oh..btw I am also super excited about this..Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud Collection (50 Vols.)  So...., just order it already!

I haven't tried this from my MBP, but I have not had a problem performing the same actions on my Mac Pro. OK, I just reread this sentence. At first glance, I thought the the MBP had crashed. What crashed, the VM app, the Windows OS, or the MBP? Is the crash repeatable? Do we need a crash report?

Nathan, if you'd just switch to 80-90 % acronyms, I don't think you'd ever have to worry about INABTY or BPBTFP.  [:)]

How specifically are the videos helpful to you?

Btw, not sure anybody that leads off with acronyms and the Pointer Sisters can be that objective.  [:P]

The Win 7 VM hard locked, was experimenting with more RAM, and for some reason I was running in "Unity" mode.  I was able to suspend the VM and then restart it again this morning, switch back to a single window and L4 was not running, so not sure we can blame L4 here, will try again this evening.

for some reason I was running in "Unity" mode.

Then, I gather that you are using Fusion. When I updated last, I switched to Parallels because they offered me a better deal. I never used Unity, so I don't know much about its capabilities and limitations.

If you have any other problems, start a new thread in the L4 Forum so it will be noticed. There is plenty of assistance on these forums.

I couldn't find a better place to post this so I guess I'll just post it here.

First of all I am going through the Hebrew lesson, haven't even looked at the greek yet.   I was a little concerned that everything would be just WAY over my head, but I think its all pretty doable.  Everything I know about hebrew (ha not much) has been self-taught thus far from books, videos etc and I have always ended up a little discouraged in the end.  But what sets the Learning to Use videos apart is the "application" of what you are actually learning.  You can immediately apply what you just saw into your bible study in L4, something we are all probably using almost every day!  For instance the Morph line in the reverse interlinear...  I had it turned off because it took up space and was useless to me.  Now its on, and I am learning to begin to make use of it!  Visual filters is another example, I would not have even thought to use them like Michael does in the vids.  Resources like Michael's "Glossary of Morpho-Syntactic DB Terminology" would NEVER have even been looked at by me...until yesterday! (Didn't know I had it! Umm yes I know I am ignorant..)  I have enjoyed the broader discussion of the Hebrew language as a whole as Michael starts introducing new topics as well.  Also..almost ALL of the pitfalls Michael mentions about using lexicons, roots, etc I have been guilty of at one time or the other after all these years of Bible study.  Using the techniques Michael is laying out opens up a whole new world of thought about Scripture, and is/hopefully will continue to make ME think about what I am reading rather than just reading what others have to say...

    So yes I Am Excited!

Nathan, thank you for taking some time to carefully lay out some of your "gains".  It was interesting to read.  I haven't gotten into the videos yet.  I have had both languages, but especially with Hebrew I have been out of practice for years.  Your journey is both interesting and encouraging.  thanks!

Nathan,  I agree with you about the Greek and Hebrew videos. Unlike you, I started with the Greek videos. After only having watched 9 of the 30 Greek videos, it it has already been well worth the money for me and my future study. Like you, one of the most valuable things that they have done is introduce me to resources that I either did not know I had or did not know how to use. Amazing!  I believe that the videos will be most helpful for folks like me who had the languages years ago in seminary but who have not "brushed up" in years. However, a person with no training in the languages can definitely use these videos and open up a world of Bible study that is beyond anything they have been capable of.
