Logos 9 Update Issues
I'm running Logos 9. When I start, I am prompted with a message indicating there is an update available. When I select yes, I then receive an error stating,
"The selected user does not have sufficient privileges to complete the setup. Please choose Administrator from the Run As...dialog."
I am running windows 10.
I have already assigned Logos 9 to run as Administrator.
I am the only user on the account both for Logos and windows.
NONE of the trouble shooting issues listed on the online support center have resolved the issue.
Restarting Logos does not help.
Rebooting the computer does not help.
I have been able to flawlessly update Logos in the past with no issue. This is the first time this issue has occurred.
Any assistance with resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention, Logos tells me I'm running version 9.3.0.0052 and that it is up to date. However I'm still getting the update available prompts.

Welcome! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]
The current version is 9.4.0.0009, so it is true that you are out of date. I am not a windows user, and I know I have seen some similar posts... but not a flood of them. You can wait for a techie to show up, but I don't think it would hurt to manually download the update and install the new engine over the old one.

I have found a couple other threads with a similar warning. One user had a program causing the problem ("window blinds"). Another couple users were running the app on a removable drive. Do either apply to you?

Welcome [:D]
Logos Help Center (LHC) article "Error Writing to File" Solution 2 mentions "Run as Administrator" as a temporary work around (not recommended).
Keep Smiling [:)]

Hello and sorry for the delay. No neither of those issues applies to me. I read it may help to re-installed Logos, but if I do that will I lose all my notes, bookmarks, layouts, highlights etc????

The only way I can get Logos 9 to successfully update is to right-click on the Logos icon and select "Run as Administrator", and the software updates just fine. Afterwards, I exit the software and reload the normal way. I have done everything I can to find why I have to do that but have no idea why. It was suggested that it is a permissions problem but that is way above my skill level.

I ended up having to call customer support. First tech couldn't figure it out. After getting escalated to the next level tech, they basically had to upload the installation package directly to my computer since the download link was still giving me the error message whenever I tried to execute it. My Logos now works perfect. Long story short call in for help, and make sure you back up any notes/highlights you have.
