Proverbs explorer
This Proverbs explorer interactive is documented in Parks, Jimmy. Proverbs Explorer Dataset Documentation. Bellingham, WA: Faithlife, 2018. As the definition and classification of proverbs are not standardized, it is important to understand the definitions that are being used in Verbum. The interactive is a typical example of a faceted, drill down table.
Facets available by count or alphabetically are:
- Type
- Form
- People
- Theme
The data side simply shows the text of the proverb.
Besides the crumb-trail of facet selection one can see the tagging in these tools:
The Information tool shows the Proverb attributes in the Other References section:
The are also viewable in the Context Menu.
The Bible Browser also supports the Proverb attribute facets. And as expected for labels, a search argument in label format is supported.
The most valuable feature is that the label and interactive are not limited to the book of Proverbs but try to cover the entire Old Testament.
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
