Has Faithlife notified the Anglicans and Lutherans that Benedicite, omnia opera Domini (Song of Creation / Song of the Three Children) is not a song despite their use of it as a song for at least 1500 years - less for the Lutherans? Yes, sarcasm is the appropriate response for resources developed by Faithlife that do not use the Ecumenical canon of the NRSV:

[quote]Many mainline Protestant churches officially approve the NRSV for both private and public use. The Episcopal Church (United States) in Canon II.2 added the NRSV to the list of translations approved for church services. It is also widely used by the United Methodist Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the United Church of Christ, the Reformed Church in America, and the United Church of Canada. My apologies -- I cannot find a breakdown of sales by canon.

It is very important that Faithlife be clear where it choses to reflect only the shorter canon of many of the Protestant churches rather than the longer canons of the larger church as a whole. Most users would not distinguish between incomplete --> unreliable and incomplete --> denominational filter.

How does Fatihlife want the users to report such problems -- with the assumption that it is a simple oversight or with the assumption that Verbum will produce a more complete edition for the protestant groups, Catholics, and various Orthodox church users?

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    Amen to that.
