Samsung Galaxy Tab A SD Card Storage

I recently acquired a Samsung Galaxy Tab A with 32GB internal storage and 32GB inserted SD card. I've looked at other older forum postings and get mixed information as to whether I can store downloaded resources on the SD card. The postings were much older and on younger Android OS & Logos versions.
I cannot see a way with the Logos app installed on my Android device to utilize the 32GB SD card, am I missing something?
