How do I do a word count in a passage?
I would like to get a count of the words used in a given pericope (e.g. John 17), listed in descending count order. How do I do that in Logos 9?

You could run the concordance against it or you could have Logos build a WordList - both will show lemmas with count.

Wow the Concordance tool runs really slow and makes my laptop work really hard. Is that normal?
Both tools are somewhat new to me, thank you!

I ran both tools based on lemmas. Questions:
1) Why do the two tools give slightly different counts?
2) Why do I have to choose an English/Chinese Bible to do a lemma count?

Yes, completely normal. Usually the concordance just needs to run once, but if you can, keep it open once you've created it.

You shouldn't. I ran concordance against NA28 for John 17, the result is attached: 3531.Concordance.xml

When I checked this, the "incorrect" results were in the Word List (the Concordance results matched what I got if I ran a lemma search)
If I create the Word List from an original language text - such as NA28 - the numbers match
So, in my case, the differences were only present if creating the Word List against a resource with a reverse interlinear, not an original language Greek text.
Does this match what you are seeing?
