Link Bible with multi-volume commentary
On the desktop version I have the Bible and Expositor's linked so that wherever I am reading in the Bible the correct Expositors volume and verse appears on the other panel adjacent to the Bible. However, I have been unable to figure this out on the Mobile app. Instead it will only let me link one VOLUME of the Expositors series. So, I link a volume from the OT and when I go to the NT on my Bible the corresponding Expositors NT volume doesn't show up. In other words it's just linking a single volume of Expositors to my Bible, not the series. Only on mobile is this a problem. Any ideas? Thanks

Welcome Craig! [:)] Sorry you are having troubles. [:s]

I do not think that mobile has this capability. If it does, it would require that you make sure all of the volumes are in the same series... but that is a desktop only feature. If you have already done this and it isn't working on mobile, I think that is confirmation about this feature not working.

Welcome, Craig
Just for adding clues:
- My Biblia app is connected to the servers
- I added an Anchor Yale Isaiah volume and linked it to my NABRE
- Made sure NABRE was controlling the commentary (linked ok)
- In NABRE, typed in Luke 4
- Noticed the 'browser' thumbnail still showed Isaiah for AYB
- Clicked on the AYB thumbnail .... it opened automatically to the Luke 4 address.
That's ios. So, the app does work. Is it Expositors ... a volume not in the set maybe?

Hi Craig:
Welcome to the user forums.
If you are referring to 'The Expositor’s Bible Commentary', I can reproduce your issue. The issue is caused by some of the volumes having a different Series name, i.e., some have 'Expositor’s Bible Commentary' and others have 'Expositor’s Bible Commentary, Rev. Ed.'. When you tried volume-to-volume on the desktop app, you probably tried volumes that happened to be in the same Series, so it appeared to work there.
The remedy is to reset the series name in the desktop app. Open the Library in a floating window and filter to the set. (I filtered by 'Expositor's Bible Commentary'. It returned some things that aren't that, so be careful.) Make sure the resource information displays; if it doesn't, click the circled 'I' at top-right. Scroll down to where the Series is shown; you might have to click the annoying 'More' link. In the Title column select the first one, then hold down the Ctrl key (I think it's Cmd on Mac) and select all the other volumes. In the Series area, click 'Set series for all' and type 'Expositor's Bible Commentary' (or what you want it to be) in the box and press Enter. That should fix it for desktop and mobile.

There are two different series name because there is the original series and a revised series with newer volumes. You are free to mix them if you want, that’s a personal choice but the default series names are correct.

My memory is iffy, but wasn't this a brouhaha a few years back. I saw the new revised rollout, but not the linking issue (2 series names).

Right; it is an 'issue' for Craig (and me). Thanks for pointing that out. It appears that he has some of the original and some of the revised, as I do. I tend to evaluate Logos' functionality from a non-scholar, non-vocational perspective.
Craig: Let amend my response by advising you to consider your use of Logos, i.e., how important is it for you to know you have flowed from an older edition of one volume to a newer edition of the next? You should probably manage Series name assignments accordingly.

Thank you everyone for the ideas. I do have the whole series of the Expositors (Revised Edition). I also have a volume or two of the old Expositors. Maybe that was causing the issue. But anyway, here is what finally worked that was very simple. I deleted all my layouts in the app. I opened a new Bible panel. Then Volume 1 of Expositors (Revised Edition). Then linked the two together. Then it worked for all the other volumes automatically. I don't really understand why it worked this time and hasn't before. Perhaps before I was already on a particular Bible verse like in the NT and then linked the corresponding NT Expositors (RE) volume, and then that would not work. I don't know. I do know I've done it several times before and it didn't successfully link multiple volumes. However, starting with a brand new Bible panel and brand new Volume 1 panel and then hitting link seems to have fixed it (for now at least). Thank everyone again.
