The Pastor Pod that is mentioned in a current blog article is missing one crucial component...a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. I lived in a travel trailer for almost two years, parked in a city neighborhood, and it was a noise magnet. I could hear dogs barking 6-8 blocks away like they were tied to the entry steps. The big sides function like a drum head, absorbing and focusing the sound into the interior. Conversations that were half-way down the block sounded like they were happening inside the Box, which is what I called it.

If I were to win, I’d supply some ear plugs if they’d supply the pod…

I think is a really cool idea. I know some pastors who are doing fine. I know others who are on the verge of quitting, a nervous breakdown, barely making ends meet, yet preaching their heart out week after week. I hope that the winner is someone that has spent months of being filled with tears whose tears are graciously turned to joy at this kind gesture from faith life.
