Factbook not finding information

Hi,

I wanted some information on Absalom (David's son) and typed into factbook, but it said there was nothing in my library! Yet when I went to one of my bible dictionaries (All the People in the Bible: An A–Z Guide to the Saints, Scoundrels, and Other Characters in Scripture), it came up with a fair overview of Absalom. Why did this not come up in factbook? Any help gratefully received. Thanks

Hi Julian - and welcome to the forums

For entries to appear in the Dictionary section, those dictionaries / encyclopaedia need to have had additional tagging done by Faithlife. There are plans to tag all of them but it is going to take some time.

I did find a few entries - but not many

While we wait for this, a Basic Search can be set up to find all entries in your encyclopaedia as below. Note that I am selecting all resources of type encyclopaedia as my search target.

I am also specifying that Logos should only such the Heading Text for these articles

    Hope this helps

Adding to Graham's great help, I think that the Absalom (name) article in Factbook actually doesn't treat the name, but Absalom the son of David - EDIT: as does the article Absalom which Graham showed quickly and which annoyingly depicts him as Farmer and King (he probably was neither in a relevant sense of the word), but goes on to give information about Absalom the son of David, including links to biblical events.

It also seems that this error with XXX (name) entries instead of XXX only or XXX (person) as a title for an article about a biblical person, giving biblical events, links to dictionaries etc., affects many or even most such articles - most often there's no corresponding XXX article which exists here.

I'm astounded that this topic (Absalom) has not been properly tagged. Factbook has no Dictionary articles and its suggested Search for "Absalom" is equally unfruitful. It suggests a Topic Guide for "Absalom (Son of David)" and that also lacks Dictionary articles. But its suggested Search is more fruitful:

You see the confusion with Absalom (Father of Matthias), but the Look up does have dictionaries that I would expect to be tagged.

They are, but they are (wrongly) tagged with Absalom (name):
