BUG: Filter in Library does not work on first (or sometimes second) selection
For at least a month or so now the filter int he library is not properly filtering my books.

This is a strange bug - but it seems I can confirm it. You did not elaborate on specifics, so I tested a bit.
To me, it seems the issue is a bug in the refresh of the results display when filtering via facets in cover view. Thus the view "blinks" but shows books that actually are not reflective of the filter, i.e. the same covers as before applying the facet filter (the numbers in the facets columns seem to be okay though). This not only happens in the subject facet, which is a special thing with the multiple levels, but also with facets like author, e.g. selecting Spurgeon (the bug does not appear with search-box filters like author:spurgeon).
Changing the sort order - e.g. from most-used to recent or to title and then possibly back - will update the filtered view and now only contain the correct covers.
This should be fixed.
