Just an FYI, I opened a large old note file and the Beta 1 version ground to a halt and responds VERY slowly. A newly created small note file appears to work well.

Logs sir. We need them to see why and to then fix. Follow the instructions linked from my signature on how. Be sure to pull the logs after you perform the action(s) that cause the slow down and describe step by step what you do when you post your logs. Is the older note file a good amount longer than the new one?
Yes, I know about the logs. Unfortunately my machine is weird and nothing happens when I click the paperclip icon in the editing bar so I can't attach logs, pictures or anything exciting. I don't know why my machine fights the nice paper clip in the tool bar. Everything else seems to work n the tool bar. If you look at my message history, you will see notes on the paperclip discussion. I believe the problem is my end, not yours, I just don't know how to solve it.
What browser are you using?
Safari 5. The problem affects me system wide because I am also not able to get the paper clip to work in Firefox. The paper clip works fine on my wife's machine in Safari 5 and Firefox. Go figure. ????
Try deleting the cache in Safari. If that doesn't work then call us at your earliest convenience.
