BHS: WIVU

WIVU is the acronym for Werkgroep Informaticca, Vrije Univsersiteit  (Netherlands); this is where Eep Talstra, another pioneer in computer assisted analysis of Hebrew texts, worked.

  • Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia: With Werkgroep Informatica, Vrije Universiteit Morphology; Bible. O.T. Hebrew. Werkgroep Informatica, Vrije Universiteit. Logos Bible Software, 2006.
  • Talstra, Eep. Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia : WIVU Constituency Trees. Logos Research Systems, Inc., 2005.

His work on the Stuttgart Electronic Study Bible (SESB) provides useful background for understanding the WIVU analysis:

  • Talstra, Eep, and Christof Hardmeier. SESB Editors’ Introduction. Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft, 2004.

In the Visualization guide section, this appears as a single item.

P1-1 WIVU Visualization

The clause visualization resources has the normal behavior:

  • Options for what is shown controlled in interlinear menu

P1-2 WIVU Clause Tree

In the Bible with WIVU coding, only the morphology shows in the context menu.

P1-3 WIVU Morphology

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
