3.0 CD-ROM Resources and Logos 4

Folks,

For resources only available in 3.0 CD-ROM can I install them directly in Logos 4? Logos 4 is the first Libronix software I have owned. I have read threads where others had version 3 and could, but it remains unclear if someone with just 4 can also?

If I wait will more resources become available as a Download (which I believe is in version 4 format, right?)

Once Logos knows you have a license for a product it will be downloaded automatically into Logos 4 (you may have to close then reopen Logos for this to be triggered). If you purchase a resource from them they should have it in your license file. If you purchase it from others you'll need to activate it for Logos to know you have it and for Logos 4 to download it.

Getting back to my posted question, I was referring to products available here at the Logos website. Some of the resources I am currently interested in have two options 3.0 & Download and some only show 3.0 CD-ROM. My concern was that I would not be able to install these to my library. From what you have said I can, and that my program should be updated with the license information automatically when purchased though requiring an update via the Internet, right?

Sorry I answered the wrong question. The answer is that you don't download resources into Logos 4 anyway so the delivery method makes no difference when you purchase them. It only matters if you are using or trying to maintain Logos 3.0 (Libronix) on your computer. So yes, once you purchase a resource from Logos you will shortly thereafter be able to get Logos 4 to download that resource simply by closing it and opening it or using the Update Now command in the Command Box. If a CD is to be mailed to you, you'll have that but won't need it (unless you are using 3.0).

Here's a tip, after you figure out what you want, call Logos and ask for a sales rep, they are frequently able to offer prices better than what's posted on the website. Jim is my sales guy.

Can I buy a 3.0 CD-ROM only product, and get Logos to throw the box in the rubbish?

I REALLY don't want to pay postage for files that are useless, as Logos4 is going to download anyway!
